Commerce Gave the Choline Case Fifty More Days
The dumping half of the choline salts investigation was due December 1 and is now due January 20, because Commerce had to go find a replacement respondent in October. The subsidy half still lands November 23, which puts fifty-eight days between the two deposits. Also new since Tuesday: one chemical line on the entire review initiation list, thirty-four fresh sections of 40 CFR 721, and three producers telling you what they will not spend.
Commerce went looking for a new mandatory respondent in the choline salts case on October 2, and picked one with sixty days left on the clock.
That search is now worth fifty days to anyone importing choline chloride out of China. It showed up in this morning's Federal Register.
"When the two halves of one duty case stop moving together, which deposit do you budget for first?"
Everything below is new since Tuesday's radar, which closed on Monday's November anniversary list. Three producers reported Wednesday afternoon, the Federal Register ran a heavy Thursday, and the week's through-line is how little of it resolves in 2026.
Fifty Days for One Half of the Case
The notice is 91 FR 69813, FR Doc 2026-22625, applicable today. Case A-570-238, certain choline salts from the People's Republic of China, initiated July 14.
The preliminary determination was due December 1. It is now due no later than January 20, 2027.
